Many religions and beliefs have a celebration around this time of year.
And just like that, while the crew of the Herald Petrel is very mixed, species from all across the universe with very different belief systems, there is one festivity they all know because it is very popular: the Rebirth of the Dragon Child. It originates from Laharia 6, but it has spread from there and nowadays (talking 2522 here) even those who don’t believe in it tend to join the celebrations.
Here is a little scene from February 2521 that, while not being part of the story, shows what this festivity is about (and you will probably understand why it is so popular), how it is celebrated in Charkovaya, and also marks a very important step in Galahad‘s and Raffi‘s relationship:
