It is Friday after a rather demanding week, but that makes posting a new chapter even more worthwhile.
In chapter 52 we ended up with a very common trope: Our two heroes trapped, alone, with no way to escape, and it is getting colder.
Tropes have become both: a new buzzword to market books and at the same time frowned upon by the #WritingCommunity … being told something is a “common trope” or a story is “tropey” means it is boring/stereotypical/too often done before.
I don’t know… if I look back upon the last week in my real life, I could name a lot of common tropes. Because, ultimately, tropes are just what happens to all of us, all of the time. They are just putting a tag onto it: #angst #hurt/comfort #depression, #FoundFamily #FriendsToEnemies …
But still, nothing in real life is in the true sense stereotypical, every life is different and every story is different.
